Most of my photographs were taken with a 4x5 inches camera, on silver salts in a gelatine support: Film.
Most of today’s photographers are not familiar with film and the difference between these two medium, photography and digital imagery.
One requires abstract visualisation as the image resides in your mind and not on a screen in front of you.
One is the product of a lifetime investment, the other a recurrent occasional occupation where images can be created and discarded instantly at the click of mouse.
One is not better than the other, but the approach is very different.
The creative process and the quality of the commitment required by each medium are distinct but not incompatible.
Just be conscious of the difference, recognize it, and find your own path.

Serge Barbeau’s work was published in various international fashion publications. Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Madame Figaro, Anna, Madame, Femme, and many more.
Serge Barbeau’s last project is called “ULTIMOS TESTIGOS”. It is a photographic / anthropological essay consisting of portraits and interviews of direct descendants of Mayan rebels, protagonists of the “Guerra de Castas”, a 50 years long rebellion in the Yucatan peninsula.
